This band does it all from Brad Paisley to Bob Marley to Metallica with true conviction. They believe there are only two types of music, GOOD and BAD. THE GARAGE BOYS
The Garage Boys formed in 2007 and have been rocking the Las Vegas Strip since, along with some amazing times in Alaska, Texas, Oklahoma, California, Arizona and North Carolina. Their shows primarily are all-request cover gigs. What they noticed from their audiences of all ages was the desire for classic rock. Younger people may like pop artists like Katy Perry or Justin Beiber, but they still want to hear “You shook me all night long” and “Living on a Prayer”. These songs still spark the new generations' enthusiasm for guitar-based rock. That is one of the inspirations behind the Garage Boys unique album. These four guys come from different walks of life and each member of the band shows their unique style and history in their first album. They have a retro-rock sound that appeals to people in their 20's as much as it does for people in their 40's and beyond. The self-titled debut transcends generations and its unique sound is the result of four talented musicians with years of experience coming together. San Francisco native Mark Mackay began his musical life at an early age as a classically-trained pianist, going on to add guitar to his arsenal and fronting his own band by the tender age of 12. Following school and a taste of the business world, Mark remained determined to pursue his musical dreams. He traveled extensively and finally settled in Los Angeles where, within a few short months, he had written a batch of new songs, recruited a band, recorded an EP “Keep Your Headlights On”, and booked a bunch of dates all over California, Arizona and Nevada. The guy never sleeps! His songs are exquisitely-crafted vignettes drawn from his life experiences and his years on and love of the open road; his plaintive vocal delivery, unlike today’s norm, is refreshingly unaffected, engaging the listener with its honesty. His guitar work is a potent cocktail: one part new and original, one part blues-rocker and one part country picker. Add to this his innate ability to work an audience and you have a live show which becomes a giant party, with everyone invited. Music Connection Magazine also recently named Mark to the their prestigious list of the Top 100 Live Acts of 2014. With new songs penned, studio time booked and the live show calendar already filling up, 2015 promises to be an exciting year for Mark, his band and his fans.
